Email account setup in Outlook 2000

Locate the Outlook icon on your desktop and double click on the icon to open it. If the icon can not be found on the desktop click Start > Program Files > Outlook.

Once Outlook is opened, select Tools > Accounts.

The Internet Accounts box will open. Click on the Mail tab, then select Add > Mail. Please note that if an email account is already configured, the email account will be listed in the box below. In the event that an email account is already configured it might be easier to modify that account. 

Type your name as shown below and click Next >.

As shown below select the first option and enter your full email address. Click Next >.

Depending on what your email address is will decide your Incoming and Outgoing mail server(s). Below are CyberLynk's FREE email addresses and the corresponding mail servers:

Email Address  = Mail Server

example@clsurf.com = mail.clsurf.com

example@clmail.com = mail.clmail.com

For Email Servers other then the two listed above:

If your email is handled by one of CyberLynk's Email servers then the mail server is most likely mail.yourdomain.com. If you have questions regarding your mail server please contact Cyberlynk Tech Support.

Click Next > after entering the mail servers.

The Account Name is ALWAYS the first part of the email address before the @ sign. Enter the Account Name and the Email Password. See example below:

Email Address = Account Name

jsmith@clsurf.com = jsmith

Click Next > after entering the Account Name and Password.

Depending on your connection type please select the appropriate button. The following example shows how to configure an email account to use a dialup connection. Click Next > after selecting the connection type.

As long as a dialup account has been setup already in Dial-up Networking it will appear in the box below. Select the appropriate account and click Next >.

A new email account has been created, click Finish to continue.

  The newly  created email account can been seen under Account as shown below. Click Close.

To check the new email account, click the Send/Receive button on the tool bar or select Tools > Send/Receive > All Accounts.
